Tracee gave us tips for eating, we could wash clothes at her place (my bag never reached me in New Zealand) and was very friendly and obliging

Located in Lower Dashwood in the Marlborough region, Hill Top Retreat has a patio and mountain views. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The superb 360 degree views, the utter peace and quiet at night, the comfortable bed, the friendly welcome of the hosts, their kindness in sharing their kitchen with us (important if you don’t want to eat out every day - there are limited facilities in the room), the impressive shower room, the overall good value for money. There are places to stay closer to the vineyards of Marlborough, but none I suspect as special as Hill Top Retreat.

Offering B&B style, hosted accommodation, Ugbrooke Country Estate has a seasonal outdoor pool and views of the garden. Guests can enjoy a home cooked meal in the beautiful Edwardian dining room. Alex and Peter were so friendly and kind. Their dogs are very friendly too. The property was beautiful. We enjoyed a very nice dinner. We even pet their horses! What a place! We enjoyed the many conversations about life in New Zealand.
