AA Homestay was the best homestay I’ve ever been. The owners are very kind and excellent chefs, their fried rice, pumpkin curry and vege jungle fern were the best I’ve ever eaten. They are the most welcoming hosts I’ve ever met in Malaysia. Staying in their homestay was the highlight of the Gunung Mulu National Park.

Offering garden views, Merdeka Guest House 2 is an accommodation situated in Kuching, 5.5 km from Sarawak Stadium and 10 km from Borneo Convention Centre Kuching. It was a great pleasure to stay at Merdeka Guest House! Firstly, the host - he is super helpful, friendly, we spent great time together, he recommended fantastic local spots, made a little foody surprise in the mornings, even helped us find good cheap durian to try! Secondly, the room - it's small but clean and you have everything you need. It was one of our best stays in Malaysia.

Featuring a garden, Mulu Tribal Homestay is set in Mulu in the Sarawak region, 1.4 km from Gunung Mulu National Park. The homestay features family rooms. Well organised house tucked away by Melinau river which renders a nature stream for swimming and dipping (though I did not jump in). The stay is just right opposite the airport, so I did not need to rush for departure at all. Having said that, a short 15min walk is needed towards the national park entrance. I enjoyed the scenic views of the jutting mountains and birds watching along the walk most. Spacious room has the basic furnitures including a long table and bedside table convenient for me to place my stuff in good order as well as the ceiling fan to cool off the heat. Bathroom is very clean with good shower. Despite without heater, the humidity of Mulu will ensure that is not essential. I did not need to worry about my meals as Salina's home cooking will always keep stomach pampered from breakfast to dinner. Free refill drinking water and coffee/tea. Tried out the home-made tuak and I loved it. I would never forget the warm hospitality by the couple owners. We had good chats.

Featuring city views, Aegean Homestay At The Podium offers accommodation with an open-air bath and a balcony, around 11 km from Borneo Convention Centre Kuching. Conveniency for small to big size family staying at this facility. Owner very helpful and responded fast to enquiries. Affordable price, top cleanliness, basic necessity prepared too. Strategic location, which got lots of eatery nearby. Can easily get e-hailing transport anytime. Close to AEON mall & other supermarket like forda. Thanks so much.

Situated in Bario in the Sarawak region, Labang Guesthouse Bario features accommodation with free private parking. At the guest house, each unit is fitted with a shared bathroom. All meals are included in the price even though only breakfast is mentioned

Located 9.4 km from Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, 13 km from Sarawak Stadium and 36 km from Fort Margherita Kuching, Natol Homestay - Hong Kong Rock Road features accommodation set in Kuching. The room was very functional and new. It had a sink inside. The design is well-thought through, shows that you don't need much to create a comfortable living space :) Also, there's a water cooker and a fridge outside.

Cassava Homestay - Rumah Santai is located in Kampong Lamanak and offers a garden and a bar. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking. The breakfast was fantastic. The host family was very welcoming and friendly. She went out of her way to make a special delicacy for my daughter (who learnt how to weave 'ketupat') They personally took us on a tour to see longhouses, and we had a delicious local lunch provided. Lovely rainforest living environment, clean accommodation, well-working aircon.

Room 2 is situated in Mulu. Towels and bed linen are available in the homestay. So nice to meet the owners, they are amazing people. Room is very comfortable even has A/C. Food and drinks are perfect. And a voice of an angel. This is the place where you should stay in Mulu. If you did not organise tours they offer that as well.

Located in Kuching, 5.6 km from Sarawak Stadium and 10 km from Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, Jazepuri - Jaze 3 offers a shared lounge and air conditioning. Zack is so friendly and helpful. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. While it's on the north side of the river from city center, it's very easy to get downtown by Grab or by boat for just a couple of ringgit. I actually like very much how it's a little removed from the centre of action and is very peaceful at night. The common areas are well equipped and it looks like there's even enough to cook a full meal if one wished to do so. The bed in my room was comfortable. I had a great sleep each night. Zack even offers tours (extra $ of course). He brought me out to Semenggoh and a couple of other stops at a reasonable cost. The water pressure in the shower is fantastic and basic toiletries were provided.
