Located 1 km away from Lucerne, Gasthaus zur Waldegg features 2 restaurants offering traditional Swiss and international cuisine, a bar and a beer garden overlooking Mount Pilatus. This is such a hidden germ! The room we stayed in was fully renovated, with a nice balcony and a great view of the mountains. In general, we really appreciated the hospitality — the staff were very kind and welcoming and there were thoughtful touches like free coffee and water carafes in the communal area, as well as an “honesty bar.” After a long day of discovering beautiful Lucerne and its surroundings, you can try local beers in the garden under the shade of the trees (which seem to be frequented by locals as well.) The location is perfect as it’s very close to the city center (direct bus line, train stop 5 min walk away) but also gives easier access to Alpnachstad/mountains. We hope to be back!

Overlooking Lake Lucerne and the Alps, this guesthouse in Meggen is just 6 km from Lucerne and offers free Wi-Fi. The spacious rooms at Gasthaus zum Kreuz are non-smoking. A beautiful small town, had great lake views room (see photo). 2 min. walk to the train, 20 min. away from the hustle and bustle of Lucerne. Robert was a gracious and helpful host. Breakfast is simple but of good quality, home-made bread rolls right out of the oven!!

Budget rooms Pilatus - Alpnachstad, a property with a shared lounge, is set in Alpnachstad, 15 km from Lion Monument, 16 km from KKL Culture and Convention Centre Lucerne, as well as 16 km from Chapel... We're absolutely happy with our room, convenient location (with private parking for car and next to a train station), very clean and quiet, newly renovated. 10/10. We'd stay again if we came back to the region.

The stylish Wanderlust Guesthouse is located in Weggis, 200 metres form the lake and at the foot of the Rigi mountain. Free Wi-Fi is featured throughout the property. Lucerne is a 30-minute drive... Very clean, very helpfull staff! Very nice location as well, very close to the lake and grocery store !

Hostel Rotschuo Jugend & Familienherberge is located on the shores of Lake Lucerne just 300 metres from the next bus stop. What an amazing stay we had. We swam tice a day and were treated like kings by the staff. So accommodating and friendly. they even gave us a tip on a ridge line hike in the area that was the highlight to our entire European trip.

Set in Fluelen and only 39 km from Lucerne Station, Bristenblick offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Everything, including WiFi was great!

Located within 6.4 km of Lucerne Station and 6.6 km of KKL Culture and Convention Centre Lucerne in Luzern, Villa Castagna Guesthouse provides accommodation with seating area. A nice quiet place outside of the main city with a beautiful view of Pilatus from the room. Amazing host and he goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable throughout your stay. You can contact him anytime for suggestions and guidance to move around and is happy to help to his best always. You have an amazing view from the terrace covering portion of the beautiful Lucerne Lake on one side with a vast green field to the other but of course Pilatus takes the center view towering over everything.

Directly on the shore of Lake Lucerne in Buochs, Rigiblick am See houses an à la carte restaurant with a terrace and panoramic views over the lake. Cable TV and a minibar are a standard in each room. Beautiful view and on the water. Architecture gorgeous. Friendly staff. Great food.

Bastis City Rooms is set in Luzern, 1.8 km from Lion Monument, 1.4 km from KKL Culture and Convention Centre Lucerne, as well as 1.1 km from Chapel Bridge. Close to the bus stop and city centre. Room was clean and simple. bathroom, toilets and the kitchen was also clean and the wifi is quite good.
