Albert and his family are super kind and nice. His daughters can make genuine local food, recommend to try the fern and fried rice/noodles. We have stayed at AA homestay for 4 nights, it’s kinda like a home in the rainforest. Room is spotlessly clean and offer free hot water to make coffee. And they will offer food in meal time. The location is a bonus, only 5 mins walk to the entrance of park. Besides, the bottle water and food price are lower than the grocery store in Mulu park.

Big and clean room, clean house. The AC worked perfectly. You can wash your clothe and use the fridge and kitchen freely. Kevin, the manager, was really nice. We enjoyed a lot our stay, thank you again !

Merdeka Guest House 2 er gististaður í Kuching, 5,5 km frá Sarawak-leikvanginum og 10 km frá Borneo-ráðstefnumiðstöðinni í Kuching. Gististaðurinn er með garðútsýni. The host is just from another world. I arrived late (around 22h30) and even though he likes to wake up at 4h30, we kept talking for about half an hour. Then, he goes: "do you want me to show you around?" >> he went on giving me a guided kuching tour in his car. He even wanted to buy me a drink but no shops were open at midnight. Besides this, he would leave traditional sweets for breakfast every day. Legend!!

Mulu Tribal Homestay er staðsett í Mulu í Sarawak-héraðinu, 1,4 km frá Gunung Mulu-þjóðgarðinum og býður upp á garð. Heimagistingin býður upp á fjölskylduherbergi. Well organised house tucked away by Melinau river which renders a nature stream for swimming and dipping (though I did not jump in). The stay is just right opposite the airport, so I did not need to rush for departure at all. Having said that, a short 15min walk is needed towards the national park entrance. I enjoyed the scenic views of the jutting mountains and birds watching along the walk most. Spacious room has the basic furnitures including a long table and bedside table convenient for me to place my stuff in good order as well as the ceiling fan to cool off the heat. Bathroom is very clean with good shower. Despite without heater, the humidity of Mulu will ensure that is not essential. I did not need to worry about my meals as Salina's home cooking will always keep stomach pampered from breakfast to dinner. Free refill drinking water and coffee/tea. Tried out the home-made tuak and I loved it. I would never forget the warm hospitality by the couple owners. We had good chats.
