Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
We stayed in the private suite which had a wonderful view of the Gariep dam through the large glass panels. The bed was large and comfortable and the host and locals were very friendly. Even a gas kettle and solar-powered lamp - very useful during load shedding!
