Absolutely beautiful place in the heart of the old town of Colonia. When we entered our room we were greeted with the stunning sight of the windows open so we could see the calm water with the sun shining off it. The placement meant we could watch the sunset from the room which was lovely. Great breakfast with delicious dulce de leche. Key cards make things really easy for entering the building. Good bathroom and lovely bed. A treat to stay in.

The location is good, 15 minutes walk from the harbor in dimly lit side street next to a take-away van. I like old buildings, so enjoyed the deteriorating and gloomy conditions within, the somber lighting and sense of isolation. There was no one else there, no staff or guests, so we had the place to ourselves.
We mistakenly used the washing machine but the owner was retrospectively nice enough to charge just 8USD for a 45 minute cycle once cleaner told them.
The air conditioner leaked on our bed and on the floor during the night but fortunately the owner said they'd call a technician if it happened a second night, so we were confident we could sleep in a dry bed at least 50% of our stay.

Everything was good but for the steep stairs up to the room. Not so good for older folks like us with baggage to fetch. Linen was clean and nice to have a kettle with tea and coffee sachets. Safe neighborhood.

Daniel is a great host. The place feels more like an AirBnb than a hostel, which we enjoyed. The hostel is very unique, we loved all the plants and the decoration. It's close to the rambla and there is a bus going every hour until 9pm into the old town.
The posada is incredibly well located close to bars and restaurants, a few steps from the waterfront. Virginia is a lovely host and we felt so welcomed and well looked after. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious, the rooms are cozy and very clean. Highly recommend!
La Casa de los Limoneros is a beautiful home stay in the countryside of Colonia del Sacramento. The hosts are charming and helped with any need we had. The landscaped gardens and pool were perfect for a few days rest after busy travel. The breakfasts and other meals and wine provided were exceptional!
