How clean it was and it was so close to central park + Subway
Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
I liked how helpful the staff were and how it felt more homie than most hotels, the location was very convienent due to the subway being right outside the hotel, how friendly the locals were and how close all the shops and supermarkets were from the hotel.
I liked I had my own private room with food, TV, and internet. It had all the simple amenities I hoped for. Nice, quiet neighborhood with a great host. Next time I’m in NY, I’ll definitely stay there again!
My stay was meant to be for a week but due to hearing from locals about the area and the travelling I would have to do each day it just made more sense for me to move to a hotel closer to Times Square. Looking back the staff I encountered although brief gave me the impression they were there to look after me more than just a customer and go above and beyond if needed.
The owner is nice and friendly. He helped me quickly when I forgot the key house in the room.
The neighborhood is nice and I even met an adorable cat in front of the house :D
I'd prefer talk and share much with locals but I guess he prefer keep a distance with the "customer" to be non intrusive or maybe he was just super busy.. Anyway I loved my experience and I recommend for sure ! :)))
Great staff. Super friendly and helpful every time. The bartender at the bar is very friendly too. Liked that you have the chance to hangout with both locals and visitors at the Local Bar. Gladly surprised about the bed which was ready made and with a towel included. Beds ar confortable and cozy for a hostel.
