Phoenix Garden, hotel in Pahoa

Offering a garden, Phoenix Garden provides accommodations in Pahoa. With garden views, this accommodation offers a patio.

We had a lovely stay on the second floor of Jacob's house overlooking his garden. This was great because there were mosquitos on the ground level and we hardly got any bites when we were on the balcony. We probably should have checked in first before going to the grocery store as he had the basics available in the kitchen, pantry and fridge. We felt like we were in our own home, which is how we like to vacation. Jacob even helped us with cutting open the 4 coconuts we had bought. And the laundry machines were an added plus! We also liked that he was eco-conscious!

Simple Rustic studio deluxe bed in tropical fruits garden, hotel in Pahoa

A recently renovated guest house, Simple Rustic studio deluxe bed in tropical fruits garden offers accommodations in Mountain View.

This place is clean and basic, with all of the amenities you need for a hiking trip. The rooms have a shower and a toilet inside, the beds are very comfortable, and you are literally living in the woods - open up your windows and the sounds and sights of nature are right there. If you are a light sleeper who is going to be kept awake by rain on the roof or coqui frogs, this is NOT the place for you. Luckily, we loved those sounds and slept very comfortably. They provide a cooler in the room, and there are jugs of frozen ice downstairs to cool the cooler. This is definitely a nature-based stay. There is an outside kitchen area downstairs (under an overhang/roof) with a water boiler and some other amenities, and a large table with chairs for eating.

It was a great experience. The hotel is less then one hour far from the volcano national park and 20 min from Hilo. It's located in the forest and Irene is a great host. She gave us a lot of info, shared her experience in the island and helped giving us some rain jackets that we forgot. She is really adorable and I can only recommend to visit this place especially if u need to disconnect from your daily life. She even showed us her ukulele collection and prepared for us the fruit from her garden.

We had a wonderful time at the Kimos' Ohanas B&B. The Jim's are great Hosts and the Breakfast is delicious. Every morning we got fresh eggs from their own chickens and fruits out of the yard. Jim gave us local tips and we enjoyed the conversations during breakfast. The room was small and cute with everything you need. The view out of the room was gorgeous with all the Hawaiian flowers. It feels like being in the middle of the rainforest.
