Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Very quiet, comfy bed, lovely host, awesome breakfast with home made bread, jam, sweet treats, and hummingbirds (the last one for watching not eating).
The room was spacious and comfortable for our family of 4. Quiet location, walking distance to all restaurants and shops. Hélène and Ron are very friendly and gave us useful information for the trails in Yosemite.
Delicious home-cooked breakfast with extra pastry treats “to go”. Our son has multiple food allergies. We were asked in advance about dietary restrictions and Hélène prepared a full special breakfast for him!

We had a lovely stay. Nickey and Steven were great hosts. They were so generous, chatty, full of information about Yosemite and even invited us for dinner one night too. Breakfast was varied and delicious every day - lots of options. It was around an hours scenic drive to Yosemite which we found very manageable. Overall, their home was very homely and we didn’t want to leave!
The place was very spacious and comfortable, and had all the facilities we needed. Casa ovo were great hosts and available throughout our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again if we were to return to Mariposa.
