Was a nice old house and the proprietor was friendly. (She offered me supper if I wanted as it was late by the time I got my there because my mobile didn't work in the US and the taxi dispatcher, and none of the drivers at EWR knew where EWR Motelcasa Guest House was. I eventually convinced one to find it on Google Maps and he drove me there. He made me wait in the cab until he was sure he had the right number.) It was basic but reasonably comfortable and I slept OK but couldn't find anyone to phone a cab to take me to the station in the morning before a guest kindly did it for me.

The host seems to be new in business and was very friendly and helpful. After having my Airbnb cancelled and finding myself without accomodation at 9:30pm he spontaneously was able to take me in without any complications.
The room was clean and the bed was the only one i've seen in Newark, where i felt comfortable sleeping in.
There is a good bus connection to Newark Penn Station from where you can easily reach Manhattan for like 7$ overall.
