Wow! What an incredible place to stay and truly an unforgettable experience with the staff and owners. We were there during the New Years holiday and an exciting time for Mango House! It was during our 10 day stay there that new management/ownership officially took over. Beth and Dollah were fabulous hosts who provided us with a mix of local and tourist adventures, while also focusing on what is actually worth spending money on. They organized sailing and snorkeling with some of the staff, booked a tour of the south (which was AMAZING), and joined us for a night out in the local town! Both of them brought an energy and warmth to the accommodation!
We, 3 people, stayed in the newly renovated Clove suite. The new amenities, furniture, bathroom appliances and general space were VERY well done and exceedingly clean. The cleaning staff, wait staff, and general faculty were attentive, capable and willing to help with any request! This place is truly unique and any time I consider traveling back to Zanzibar -Mango Beach House will be the place I stay!

I loved the outdoor area. The sand throughout was cool and the pool is lovely as well as the bar and restaurant area. I like that you can walk out on the beach but locals will wait by the steps and you do get hassled a lot, especially if you’re a girl which gets so tiring! The food was really good and the bbq night is so cute. Staff were friendly, some over friendly, asking me out for drinks which made me uncomfortable as a solo traveller
Had an amazing time here! Abu and his team were great hosts, showing us around the village, organising things for us if needed and teaching us about Zanzibar. Would really recommend, had a lot of fun here!!
About 5 minutes drive from the nearest town Paje so it’s nice and quiet the area, you walk out your room straight onto the beach. Our room was really spacious and they upgraded our room for free lovely hosts going out their way to make our stay great
The property is a stunning and peaceful retreat. The facilities are in great condition and great service from staff. Sarah the manager is a great hosts and was able to arrange a day trip for me in short notice. The 3 storey bar offers stunning view of the valley. The rooms are beautiful and the outside shower is a plus
This place is really a hidden gem in Jambiani. Directly at the beach and very calm. Roberto and his wife are great hosts and support you with booking trips, getting drivers or just to answer questions or give recommendations. The rest of the staff was also great. Amazing food and breakfast. The rooms were nice and comfy. It really exceeded my expectations and definitely worth a visit.
We had a wonderful eight days at Driftwood and probably had the most relaxed holiday of our lives. Days were spent meandering between the beach on the doorstep, pool and sun beds. Uishi and Dricus were great hosts together with all of the staff we encountered. Food was also excellent and very well priced. The bungalows may be described as rustic but met all of our needs.
Beautifully designed and maintained boutique hotel; feels like a sophisticated private home. Wonderful host. To give an example of the level of service, my suitcase had been damaged during transit. The hotel was able to fix it and return it to me within 30 minutes of arrival. Exceptional!
It is very cozy, you feel home and living among the locals. It is a very simple place, but with all you need.
