I originally planned to only stay for two nights but upon arriving and experiencing the beauty of my room at this village I immediately extended my stay. Ended up staying for 17 days and I don't regret one second of it!
My room was beautiful and comfortable with a balcony and amazing mountain view. There's a beautiful garden down stairs that you can walk around. Ponds stocked with loads of fish and amazing trees and plants everywhere! You can even go for walks through the village and stumble across random animals and picturesque views of all the nature. It's all very peaceful and a good place to relax / live the slow life for a bit (especially if you need some time to think about life). If you're looking to get away from it all then look no farther. This place definitely felt like paradise to me and is the closest thing to a home I've felt since leaving my home to travel for a bit.
The host family is so sweet!! I got pretty close with them during my time there so if you have the time feel free to get to know them! You won't regret 😀
Side note they also speak French well 😀
And again, this place is a hidden gem. Enjoy it before word gets out 😜

Bougain Villas have very large stylish, comfortable rooms set in absolutely breathtaking location in the north of the town. Surrounded by fields with horses and cows, and with a stunning view of the mountain it’s truly a paradise. The family run business takes great care in personal customer service. Even bringing paracetamol and congee to my wife who was having a fever. The pool is great for lengths and the adjoining restaurant can deliver to the room and is very good. Great value for money.

Lovely hostel nearby the Main Street and bus station of Chiang Dao. The staff are very friendly and can organise a scooter rental for you, which makes it easy to get around to the different sites. The grounds of the hostel are so peaceful with many places to chill out, including the hammocks! The beds are really comfortable and they provide free towels.
We had a wonderful stay at Thong’s Family Homestay! The food and recommendations were great! She is a really nice and funny host and it felt like staying at a friend’s house. Thank you again :)
The location is exactly what I wanted, remote enough but still close to the town. Able to hit the hot springs and hike within a 10-minute drive or 20-minute walk. Amazing authentic Thai breakfast with fresh papaya, banana & dragon Fruit! Thong was a great host and always had fun activities planned like heading to the local market or heading into the village for dinner & dancing.

Tong and her family are so kind and welcoming. She provides the best homestay experience, with great conversation and advice on places to go.
I had the best meals at Tongs, and one evening we cooked together. Tong also took me to the local temple to celebrate new years with her family.
Tong's home is also very beautiful with hot spring very close, and you can rent a scooter from Tong. Tong also picked me up/dropped off at the bus station.
I highly recommend staying here.
