Although not a beachfront location, the nearest beach was a 15 minute walk or a 2 minute motorbike ride. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. Breakfast was good and the restaurant obviously very popular with lots of drop in trade. The quality of the food was excellent as was the choice available. I also liked the 2 x beanbags on the landing outside our rooms to chill out on. There were wooden benches and a coffee table but the beanbags encouraged us to lounge around at the homestay for longer than we would have done without them. The dogs and cats were also an entertaining bonus for us as animal lovers! You can also rent a motorbike from the family so it really catered to your every need.

We enjoyed our stay at Dara homestay, the rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was nice and staff always willing to meet our requests The location is good if you ride a scooter (you can hire them from the hotel), as there are not many places within walking distance of the homestay. Koh kood is one of the best places to discover the actual Thai lifestyle and despite being a small island you can find a variety of food options. Koh kood bed is next to a lovely swedish bakery (Cici) where you can even get gluten free items. (The gluten free crepes are one of the best crepes we ever had.) And you shouldn't miss out on the chance to try the cooking class. It is also close to some other restaurants with a really good taste.
You can also hire a scooter from koh kood bed and this makes everything so much easier to travel around the island. And the owner also gives you the contact number which could be contacted anytime for any query or in case of emergency.
It is also close to Bang Bao beach which is 3 minutes drive and we used to go there in the late evening for a swim. The water is warm and even has traces of bioluminescence.
This place is carefully managed by the lovely owner and we will happily choose this place again if we were to visit Koh kood again.
