Alex and family are helpful and friendly. The house and garden are very quiet and peaceful (it is not central and you need some form of transport to get here from CR centre - about 6 or 7 KMs). You go to sleep and wake up to the sound of nature. The garden is lovely and quiet and the room was large and comfortable. There are some restaurants and coffee shops within easy walking distance but Alex (or his wife?) will cook for you! around I strongly recommend it if you want a quiet and peaceful few days.

Everything. Chian House was everything I had been looking for in Thailand. The building is beautiful, the hosts accommodating and the food was delicious at a great price. They had bike hire and tours available. I was planning to extend our 2 day stay to at least a week. Unfortunately, the day after we arrived Chiang Rai flooded. The hosts looked after us for 2 days and helped us liaise with the Tourist Police. I hope Chian House and everyone in it is ok and hopefully we will be able to return. God Bless.

Quite area, spacious, simple but decent breakfast provided, and on one of the days that I woke up late, they waited for me to eat before keeping the food (which I found really thoughtful and kind of them, as it shows how they recognise each guest) The staffs were really sweet, and they have bicycles for you to use to cycle to the town or to a park nearby. Location was good, not too far from the city center.
Room was provided with the basics, water pressure was weak, but decent enough. Mosquito repellent provided, and they do provide water every day too.
Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Lovely hosts, very attentive. Spotlessly clean. We stayed in a room the main house first night which was probably the best value 600thb room we've ever had. Just missing a fridge and mosquito nets on windows - had to resort to AC to get some air moving. Then we stayed in the more traditional small wooden cottage with its own outdoor space, again fantastic at 800thb - highly recommended. Parking available within the property.
