Situated in a beautiful village, the house met and exceeded all the needs for our short stay. You would need to have your own car to get to this village.
The downstairs sitting area and kitchen is spacious and comfortable. We didn’t use the kitchen other than to make tea and coffee, and the complimentary coffee capsules were greatly appreciated. We did note that the kitchen is very well equipped with all the necessary items for a comfortable and self catering stay.
The Wi-Fi speed is faster than most hotels we’ve stayed at. The bathroom is on the ground floor and is excellent, with a great shower and plenty of hot water.
Upstairs, the king size bed is very comfortable and we both enjoyed a great sleep. The church is really close and we so loved hearing the church bells ringing on the Sunday morning for mass. Parking is really easy just metres from the house. Refugio D’Anita is a place we would love to return to for a longer stay. The house is spotlessly clean from top to bottom. Thank you José

Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Pedro and Sarah were lovely hosts. Pedro is so helpful and friendly with anything you need, restaurants, activities around the area, etc. The hostel facilities are maintained so well. It is super clean and comfortable. They provide you with breakfast and local wine, beer, and port with an Honest Box policy. The rooftop gives a beautiful view of the valley and you can see the stars so clearly at night. It is the best part about the facilities for sure.
Great place to stay, the apartment is excellent, and has everything you will need (including basic cooking condiments salt pepper olive oil!)! The location is also super good! Pedro and Thiago are great hosts, and were very accommodating. It is super handy that they run the Cafe across from the train station so it is very easy if you need to store your bags before/after check-in. I highly recommend this place!
Our tour with Bruno to see his vineyard and taste his wines was exceptional. He is a very passionate and competent wine grower and maker and we thoroughly enjoyed his tour.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hostel. Pedro and Sara are great hosts. They make you feel as a part of their family. Pedro also provided several recommendations on restaurants and hiking in the Pinhao valley and helped with booking wine tastings. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The hostel also has a beautiful terrace garden with nice views.
I highly recommend this place and look forward to visit them again.
Modern, clean and very thoughtfully furnished: charging points/light by your bed and beds positioned in such way that even though it is a room of 6 people, it feels very private sleeping.
Furthermore, Pedro and Sara are great hosts. Ask Pedro for his suggestions for some good hiking trails in the area!
Pedro was a great host, very kind and helpful, even stocking the fridge with plenty of fresh food, milk and juice. The place is cosy and comfortable enough. Handy for wineries and walks in the Douro valley.
Pedro was a great host ..we met him for a welcome drink at their restaurant opposite the train station. The apartment was as described and great for our needs. We only stayed one night but it's location was really good. We had the added bonus of breakfast with fresh coffee and orange juice. We were able to check in early and then stored our luggage at the restaurant when we were leaving. We had pre-booked a boat trip and enjoyed the trip along the valley.
The breakfast was absolutely amazing. Lovely host!
