The family that takes care of the casa is so nice! They had stocked the pantry with all the essentials and more. Fresh oranges to make juice, hams cheeses, etc. I also loved the breakfast basket in the morning. So thoughtful.
The room is big, plenty of space to be comfortable. If I go back to the Douro valley one day, that's where I want to stay.
Boasting river views, Ferradosa GuestHouse is set in Vale de Figueira, around 35 km from Longroiva Hot Springs. This homestay offers a terrace.

We had a small (but quite adequate) double room with private bathroom sharing the top floor of a beautiful stone building. It was comfortable and clean.
Located next to the Corgo River, this large eco-friendly and family-run B&B in the Douro Region comprises 6 stone cottages and 3 guest rooms in the main house.

Fantastic place! The large territory of the old manor house has rooms and apartments for guests. The place itself is very well located - close to the town but away from any noise. It was hard to believe that all the city life is just by hand. We stayed in the apartment and when we arrived, the fireplace was already lighted for us. The apartment was awesome - large, beautifully furnished. In the morning we were offered a fresh bread, although we did not order breakfast.
Tomás Barqueiro has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Folgosa, 12 km from Douro Museum.

You can enjoy your breakfast at the local bakery, the only pastry shop in town, or the host can bring it back to your room. The balcony has a nice view. There is free parking on the roadside.
Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
The hotel is very pretty, the room is big, breakfast is excellent,
and the service is superb.
Sona is a great host, she provides good explanation and guide us on touring around Duoro valley . She recommended us good wne tour , wine tasting and bread museum in the region.
Mostly everything. Sara is a great host. Always smiley and gave us great recommendations. The breakfast is great. The view at the outside area by the pool is stunning.
Great host, very helpful, we forgot our notebook and Joana helped so much in sending it back. Good place also, though the streets of this small village are a bit vertical :)
Well ! The place is really great located in a little village in the North of Portugal. We have had a great time, Luisa and Mario were great hosts, and offered a premium quality service with their own products. The room was amazing and relaxing, and offered an amazing rest, as the surroundings are real quite. The highlight is probably the breakfast by the pool. All were homemade products and quite tasteful, gently sorted by the pool. This place is a haven of peace. 😊
Great host, lovely view, excellent breakfast, walking distance to town with restaurants, everything was top 👌
