Exceptionally clean and comfortable accommodation in a quiet location the perfect distance from Wellington if traveling around the North Island.
Our hosts were lovely; a very friendly, warm couple who are well travelled and engaging. They offered us dinner for a little extra and both that and the breakfast were delicious and generous. We left hoping that they will visit us in Nelson so that we can return their hospitality.

The breakfast was excellent, a Dutch breakfast. Very filling and delicious. The coffee was great, too. I liked my bedroom with its window seating and beautiful, old, original wooden floors and doors. The light switches and latches on the doors are original in the heritage property. Leon told me the house was the first in Masterton to have electric lighting. I also had my own bathroom and entrance to the house. Plenty of light from the large windows looking onto the garden. The garden is filled with flowers and beautiful roses and a hammock! The hosts, Kinnie and Leon are very friendly and helpful. I found my weekend stay comfortable and relaxing. The house is within walking distance of the CBD with its shops, cafes, bookshop, Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History, and the Wool Shed Museum. I loved the lavender in the Queen Elizabeth Gardens.

What a beautiful stay we had at Wendy and Tony’s.
The garden is beautiful and the room is beautifully decorated and very comfortable.
It is a very short 5 minute walk to the township and close to local wineries.
Wendy was very helpful with her local knowledge advising places of interest to visit and the best eateries.
They have a very quiet peaceful setting for a relaxing stay.

Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Cosy well equipped 'granny flat' my 4 year old loved having 'our own little house' to live in. The stocked fridge, fruit and treats were an unexpected surprise, thanks Miranda.
Lovely host who made us feel at home, showed us our room and how everything worked. Room was everything we needed for our stay. Lovely warm shower, comfortable beds and special touch of having the heater switched on before our arrival.
Perfect location for a quite, farm styled get away. Everything in the cottages were top quality especially that shower pressure lol. Would recommend this property to anyone. Great host, let you have your space. Will be back in the future thank you.
