Very nice place to stay in Butterworth! Everything was very clean, I met the owner during check-in (which is at a nearby inn) and he was really nice. Even recommended some places to eat, things to do etc.
The room was well-kept and very clean. As this place is in Butterworth and not in George Town it was very quiet.

Arthur, Howie and Amit were like fairy godfathers during my stay there. They took care of every little detail during my stay better than any 5-star hotel could. There was always some local, vegetarian-friendly specialty for us to sample in the morning, in addition to bread and hot beverages. They had provided many suggestions of things to do, but they had never tried to sell any tours or packages, so I knew I could trust their recommendations. Filtered water and earplugs were available, the WiFi was strong, the cats were adorable, the property was kept clean, and the location could not have been better. Tourist attractions were within walking distance and public buses were plentiful just a 1-minute walk away.

Aayu Melayu is a great place to wind down after a good day's visiting George Town.
It's very close to extremely good eateries and Shane took the time to provide us with some itineraries that could have been our go-to if we hadn't prepared in advance.
He also sent us several map lists with good spots to visit and eat, which came really in handy and I highly recommend you use them.
The high ceilings help keep the building cool, and good effort has been put in to accommodate european travellers.

Joey is such a lovely hostess. We felt very comfortable and welcome. She was very helpful and warm. The room (family room) has everything you need. It’s clean and comply. You can even do your laundry in the kitchen. I can highly recommend this accommodation to anyone. :)

The room is spacious, great to have hanging rack, hair dryer, small kitchen, Plenty of bathrooms so you're not waiting, good water pressure, secure front door. Fast WiFi, nice enclosed lounging area. This was one of the better places i stayed for the value throughout several months in south east Asia.

Location is near to Penang Sentral/Jetty and my plan was to reach after mid night and to travel to Penang on the first ferry. The reception is available 24 hours for check in unlike the homestay.
The house is one of the best stay with clean and tidy space. Good view and a good host. He has made it easier for everything. Michael is responsive fast and a helpful host. Would recommended to anyone to take homestays at Woodsbury from him.
