I had booked this property before, but unfortunately, this time the owner seemed unprepared, missing out on our stay. However, he handled the situation well by politely acknowledging the oversight and quickly preparing a room for us. Although the air conditioning wasn't functional, the owner made genuine efforts to compensate for the inconvenience. Despite these hiccups, I still had a great overall experience, rating it 9/10.

Very poor stay experience! I booked a room with a private bathroom, but upon arrival, I was told that the room type was fully booked, and the hotel gave me a cheaper room without a bathroom. It feels like a scam. Worse, other guests seemed to have encountered the same issue. The room facilities were terrible: the window leaked when it rained, and there was a noticeable bad smell in the room. To make matters worse, each room was separated by partitions, and the soundproofing was awful, making it extremely noisy at night, impossible to rest. Very disappointed with this hotel, not recommended. it's ridiculous! the hotel confirmed my booking and chargedme, only to cancel my reservation on booking.com. it feels like they are trying to avoid bad reviews to protect their 5-star rating. if they don't want to accept booking.com through third-party platforms, they shouldn't list their property there. canceling after payment has been processed is irresponsible. i hope other potential guests choose this hotel with caution.

Laid back, clean, and full of very sweet and sociable cats! I love the way the space is decorated and the room itself had everything I needed to have a comfortable stay. Other guests were quiet and generally kept to themselves but also were very kind in the brief interactions I had. If you love cats I highly recommend :)

It was one of the best guesthouses that I have stayed in. Cosy interiors and floors, very clean bathroom, location near the famous Armenian street, and most importantly the nice staff. I stayed in the dormitory room with a separate mini room for each bed, which is a good idea in terms of security and privacy. There’s a lot of places to eat nearby, especially at night for Chinese street food. Outside is not noisy at night.

The apartment was on the 18th floor (out of 42 floors) Strong A/C, good wifi. Plenty of outlets. Comfy couch and TV. Host provided laundry tablets, shampoo and instant coffee and tea. The host and I communicated via Whatsapp, they were very responsive, friendly and accommodating. The apartment has a very nice view of the city. We can see a sliver of the ocean only from the master bedroom if we stand at a specific spot. Location-wise, we could walk to the Jelutong market, located behind the building. A short grab ride took us to Fisherman's Wharf for fresh seafood. The main touristic area of Penang was a little further, requiring a 20 minute drive. We had no problem ordering grabs at any time of the day. Elevators were quite slow. It seems this building is mainly for tourists and it is usually booked quite full. My favorite part was the 11th floor amenities which had a bunch of cool things like the infinity pool, dry and wet sauna, a decent gym encased in a cool looking glass pod, 24 hour coffee and snack vending machine.

Spacious, nice open design, heritage house vibe. Three floors, friendly staff, and walking distance to lots of good restaurants, cafés and bars. Special shout out to Daily Dose Café and the kind owners across the street for their tasty breakfast and coffee.
