Very nice view on the rice fields from the terrace, good for relaxing or a short walk. Many birds. Warm welcome with a drink. Clean room, big and good bed with klamboe. Good food (be aware there are no restaurants or shops nearby), served at the time you like in front of your room, including water. Beer available. Friendly family who arranged the safari day for us (with a very nice and extensive lunch!) as well as a taxi to our next destination. We were lucky to see a lepard! Take mosquito repellent.

If your looking for a well rounded bungalow in a very natural setting this is the one. I went here for birding and the famous Wilpattu safari. Sadith takes amazing care you and he was so kind sharing his internet for a brief moment with me.
As written there is no Wi-Fi. To get there is also quite a challenge as not all Tuktuk drivers want to take you there, I managed to find a local guy riding his bike that way for me. Very kind.
For bird lovers this place is everything. You can freely hike around to spot countless birds, even more so then during your jeep safari. The lake and rice fields hikes I did around were beautiful. Local farmfamilies smile and wave at you. Monkeys all around.
I booked my safari through the owner of the accommodation. Unfortunately the safari agency didn't gave me an English speaking guide as I requested so my private safari tour turned out quiet a lonely one for most of the day! :( The owner gave me back 10% of my money due to this situation. That was really good!

The hotel is located just by the entrance gate to the park which is a great solution for those who want to do the safari. The room has 2 double beds, fridge, coffee and a toilet. The family that runs it is amazing. They prepared the most delicious local dinner possible and the breakfast was great too. The room is very clean. There is a nice seething area outside the house. It is a small but very well taken care of place. Just what you need before and after an exciting safari. Highly recommend!

Friendly people. The guide/driver for the safari in the nature park was great. We saw beautiful birds almost continuously. Three types of monkeys. And two times a leopard. He drove calmly and mainly through the quiet parts of the park. Which was great. The room was clean but very simple. We had to ask for sheets because the topsheets were missing.
Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.

The room was clean and has a mosquito net. The homestay is a few minutes front the national park gate.
Everything made this experience perfect! We hot there by night, organized everything for next day safari, just woke up at 6am and had an incredible experience around the National Park with the car of this homestay. Good food, and good staff!
Susil was a great host for us. He took time to talk with us and tell us about the surrounding area and some of the history of Sri Lanka. Made us beautifully cooked homemade meals with traditional ingredients. Very kind man that made our stay an extremely positive one. Hostel is in the most perfect location literally metres from the entrance of the national park.
Great stay at this homestay. The guys were super friendly and helpful. They also organized the safari tour for us and everything worked!! The homestay is in a quiet area close to the park what makes it super comfortable.
Really lovely host, very helpful and caring. I also booked a full day safari with them, which I also enjoyed a lot. The food at dinner is exceptional. Maybe the best food I had on my whole trip. It is cooked by the host family and comes as a buffet of sri lankan dishes. The room is nice, clean and comfortable.
