Amazing host Danush was in touch with us since we have booked the place, was so accommodating and welcoming. I stayed alone with two kids, super safe, very cozy space in quite street full of Datura plants with gorgeous stars panorama, cozy room with hammock and private patio, great shower, can’t stress enough how awesome the host is 🙌🙏 heard he is planning to open camping spot . Ella by far was my favorite spot in Sri Lanka

We stayed here for 3 nights based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. Nimal and his staff were so kind and helpful, and our room was spacious, clean and had a table and chairs outside our door so we could enjoy the amazing view of the valley. It was great fun to go out and watch the monkeys and birds every morning! There’s also a communal area with a few hammocks that look out over the valley, and the dining area also overlooks the valley. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and Nimal was always there to help give us information and set up transportation if needed. And as others have said, it’s a short walk into town. Overall, a great stay!

The views are amazing every where on the property. The view from my room was amazing. It was so nice sitting on the balcony and looking the view. The breakfast in the morning is outstanding and a feast! The host makes you feel at home and even drove me into town and to my train. They went above and beyond.

We stayed here 4 nights and really nice room, right on the tracks which was perfect for us so easy to get around along the tracks. Room was good (shower was not great though), there was no air con in the room but we didn't really need it (does have a fan). Kettle in room with cups etc as well, good beds with mosquito net. Trains are erratic lol one day 5am and other day 7am and as you are right on the tracks you do hear it and feel it but it didn't worry us. Was quite private as a big hedge in front (still could see the view but not the people going along the track) but obviously train people could see in especially if they stopped right outside which they did but most waved :-) Amazing views though and a lovely family. Breakfast was nice and generous. Stick to the Tea which was lovely as the coffee was a little strange (very weak and tasted like tea with a hint of coffee!) The family did have a new born child (daughters) but actually it was very quiet and didn't disturb us at all Ella is about a 5-7 minute stroll along the track with loads of bars and restaurants - highly recommend going to Granma's Kitchen by alley way at Chill Restaurant as it is superb and very cheap. Next door to it the brother runs a cookery class as well. Such a lovely family. We also really liked OneLove (we only went for coffee) but an amazing 4 floor restaurant which had a lovely atmosphere.

The owners are super nice. We forgot our daighter's plush toy dog at the hotel, we reached out to them and they helped a lot in the process of getting it back to us. Breakfast was plenty and tasteful, absolutely recommended.

The location, the hostess and the food! We are a family of four with a 5 yr old girl and 2 yr old boy, and traveled with a family whose children are the same age. Sudha’s home was perfect for the kids to play, there is a gate you could lock on the outdoor terrace so the kids could safely play in and outdoors. She had a beautiful white lab and cats and three kids enjoyed the animals a lot.
