Although this property advertises a restaurant, we were unable to obtain a meal during our 3-day stay. Overall, the communication with our host was very poor. I tried communicating with the whatsapp number provided, but messages didn’t seem to be monitored and I would receive a response 12-24 hours after messaging or not at all. I also tried communicating via booking.com messages, SMS and phone calls, receiving about the same result as with whatsapp messages. Twice we asked for breakfast and were simply told hours later, “sorry, not possible.” Basically, our hosts were mostly absent and there was no customer service. The host even seemed a bit hostile at times, especially at check-in, and we felt like we were just a nuisance and not wanted there.
We went in October, at the end of the Nilaveli Beach tourist season and I assume this had a lot to do with the owner’s attitude towards us. Perhaps he was experiencing financial stress. Whatever the cause, we wished he would have refused our booking so we could have stayed in one of the numerous other guesthouses nearby where our presence would have been appreciated and we would have felt some hospitality and been able to get a meal.
Otherwise, the property itself was fine. It was very clean and a 6 minute walk to the beach as advertised. Our room had very poor ventilation so it was very humid and smelly.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The area is quiet and serene (and close to the beach). But the best part about my stay was the family that hosts it. They were always kind, sincere, and hospitable, and were happy to teach me more about their home country. And of course, the homemade food was the best I’ve had in the 4 months I’ve been traveling.
I haven’t been home in a while and had been stuck in a bit of a rut, but staying here and being around this family reminded me of the warmth of home.
I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you all for a wonderful stay.

Great location, right on the beach. Easy walk up the beach to a salty dogs cafe and beach lovers restaurant and bar. Rooms were simple, though were fine for the stay. We ordered pizza delivery from Kitchen Nero one day, and they delivered to our cabana. Was good to mix things up and not walk up the beach for lunch, as we were very content just lazing on the sun loungers. Breakfast is simple and plentiful. 500m walk to the main road for snacks and bottled water. Amal was great in offering to take us further if needed, in his car.

I love the location! It's right on the beach! And during the time we were there, the beach to the left and to the right from the hotel was deserted. There are only a few rooms at the hotel and guests would leave somewhere and at times it felt like we had our own private beach just for two of us! Also having breakfast and dining there is so great, because again your doing it right on the beach, so the scenery and the sounds of waves are perfect. I live how they have us so many different traditional Sri-Lankan side dishes to our order. The bungalows are located far from the main road, so you only hear the sound of waves and nothing else. Very nice owners and staff - they helped us with luggage both during check-in and check-out and did it out of genuine hospitality, not like most places in the world where they help you with luggage and stay there wait for tips. Really great place, very romantic, I hope we'll be able to come back to Sri-Lanka again and stay at these Bungalows!

Great place very near to Nilaveli beach. There are AC and None AC rooms available. Rooms are built with attached bathrooms and more like a small house where two separate rooms are available. It's very suitable for a family. There is a restaurant and these days they don't function. but in the restaurant area there is a separate kitchen to cook your own food. but you have to bring everything. The person who took care of the property is very friendly and helpful. always gives his full support to everything. Overall its a great place for a reasonable price. Hope to visit again when traveling to Trincomalee.

Nice hotel close to the beach with very friendly owner. He look after things well and are very keen to help. Beach is fabulous 🏖️. At the time we visited there was no trash at all. A perfect beach getaway in Trinco. We had an amazing time and it was a truly wonderful experience overall.

The location is great. It is close to the local beach and a short tuk tuk ride to the main restaurants on the beach.
In the morning they made us breakfast - roti and dahl and coconut sambal for a little bit extra.

The home stay has a good vibes atmosphere, with a garden with "hamacas", and full day open kitchen.

I arrived very early and they stored my luggage, also in the departure day.
We stayed in the older house with a veranda and a lot of shade. The room was cosy with 4 persons but with airco and this is the only thing we needed!!! The beach and a lot of restaurant options in the surrounding walking distance. In the weekend locals tend to build a party near the beach so this was super fun. Try snorkeling (also possible without the expensive 40 dollar visit to pigeon island) or diving. We drive with our own tuktuk which you can stall in the garden.
Go and see the cultural part in the nearby Trincomalee.
Staff were wonderful, helped with motorcycle repair, loved the locals coming to play pool and swim, food was the best, grounds were nice, didn't have to leave to eat or have fun elsewhere.
We had a great time at the home stay resort. The place is very quiet. The family is very welcoming and always ready to help. Our daughter spent some time with their one, a great way for her to discover another culture. The breakfast is typically Sri Lankan and tasty. We warmly recommend this place.
Great value stay, close to the beach. Spotlessly clean and with the bonus of kettle, tea and coffee in the room and a fridge on the verandah. Lovely host who even organised for our washing to be done at a very reasonable price.
