Great location and easy to walk to nearby attractions. It was also simple to navigate to from Gwangju as the bus stop was close to the accommodations. The hosts were kind enough to bring me breakfast one of my mornings which was super nice. Room was great and comfortable.

The best location in town I think, because you get the penguin village and the area nearby with a bunch of galleries, cafes and restaurants around. Right across the river you have the buzzing city life area with museums, shopping, night life and more cafes.
The owner is a nice lady who also hosts bachata dance class, you can ask her to participate. The place offers "Korean breakfast" which has multiple variations, but if you didn't have spicy kimchi soup for breakfast before - here's your chance :)
The dorm area is clean and new. There is a balcony if you need to dry your clothes, the bathroom is in the room as well, which is nice.
Hike to the mountain is a short bus ride away. If you go a bit deeper into the hood, you'll discover the local place 60계치킨 광주방림봉선점 - the best Korean chicken I had in Korea. They can also make the red sauce version not that spicy if you ask.
Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
