Very clean, comfortable accommodation in a historic building with wonderfully friendly and helpful hosts. Laundry facilities are available. Dinner was a large amount- three dinners was more than enough for four people. The breakfast was also large and extravagant.. keep in mind they eat whole fish for breakfast in this country ;). the village is beautiful and the beach is completely empty. The property is literally a quarter of a block from the beachfront.

This place is a hidden gem. The owner was super nice. He had food to purchase when almost no one in town had any hot meals to purchase due to slow season. He is at the foot of a temple which you can take a rope car straight up a steep hill or you can climb a thousand stairs (really cool). The hot springs that come out the ground makes beautiful streams with koi fish in some areas. This room felt really secure and quiet although the first floor is a bookstore slash Cafe. My friends were in a nearby hotel and they came to hang out at my hotel/Cafe with me and the hospitality is off the charts. I can go on and on and still not cover half. This is a walking town that you feel really safe in. All the store owners have stories and are so inviting. The onsens were not my thing, but my friends gave them 5 stars I cannot find any negatives. Oh, maybe an extra pillow will be nice, but I never asked because I was so comfortable in every other way. Rent an ebike across from the train to go to the zoo and park. Free battery changes feel like Formula 1 pit stops. Oh, and walk a lot. This place grows on you quick. Hope this helps your Kinosaki trip. City pictures included.

Tak the host is fantastic...friendly, helpful, and he speaks decent English. His customer service attitude makes his small, simple guest house a mouse that roars. The bookstore in front where guests check in is cute, fun and interesting, a nice, welcoming space.

The owner Mizuho Ooishi is an amazing hostess, making sure I was well received, comfortable and welcome. She told me about Kinosaki history and we had a lovely time chatting.
I love the entrance and the garden view from the sitting room. Mizuho-san arranges the ikebana flower design for that room which was colorful and a lively part of the room. The dorm room is spacious, and I was lucky to have it all to myself during my stay. Complimentary clean pressed yukata, obi and hand towel as well as the clacky geta were available for use at the onsens. The kitchen is well equipped, well-organized, and clean. There is also a vintage back massage chair one can use for JPY10!
I look forward to another visit soon.

Very clean, A very good price I think. Very close to the beach and quite a few good restaurants. Not super busy when I went. The town is small enough you can walk most places, but to the train station is a bit far. There are occasional busses if you don't have a car.
Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Perfect place to stay to get the most out of KinosakiOnsen. Perfect location in the middle of town. Lovely hosts who were happy to help and share a laugh. English speaking host as well. Room was large. The dinner and breakfast are a must. We stayed 2 nights kaiseki one night and shabu shabu the other. Never seen so much food! Very good quality. Public Onsen pass included and the most stylish yukata in town. Make sure to wear this everywhere and get in the spirit. Highly recommend. Private toilet in the room.
The hotel was beautiful, my wife and I booked the room with a private outdoor onsen and it was amazing. The town is beautiful and the staff and locals were so nice.
Nice interior room design
Friendly and helpful staff
The homestay do provides kimono rental for all the guests with free of charge.
The room comes with free towel and pair of Japanese shocks.
Simple breakfast served for individual.
Takashi was a great host who made me feel like family at Bookstore Ichi. He had plenty of recommendations, great stories from growing up in the area, and was really helpful whenever I needed anything. Bookstore Ichi is more than just a place to stay - Takashi cultivates a warm community and welcomes you into it.
My room was clean, spacious, well kept, and the balcony view was nice for mornings. I liked sleeping with the windows open and found the town to be calm and restful.
We had a great stay. Yuko is such a great host, friendly. She helped us out with getting around and made a very tasty breakfast, can highly recommend that. You can borrow bikes and it is a peaceful place to enjoy after being to the onsens in Kinosaki Onsen.
This ryokan is in a great location, with lovely hosts, and delicious breakfast provided. We booked additional dinner ahead of time with the ryokan, which was also amazing. Everything was clearly explained, including how to use our spa passes in the town, and when each onsen would be available.
Many utilities and accommodations available, great atmosphere, and great hosts. It was a very homey place to stay and it lived up to the reviews I saw on Google.
