The house's location is on the side of a mountain, surrounded beautifully by nature.
Despite arriving VERY late, we were received and treated kindly. Additionally, at no fault of the owner's, there was a mistake with the reservation and the owner did not have room for 2 women. Despite this, the owner found a place for us.
The place is FILLED with cats!! The cats are healthy, friendly, playful, and gentle. When it was time to sleep, they joined us on the futons but did not annoy us. If you're sensitive to noise it might be a little noisy, but I found it relaxing, and it reminded me of my cat back home.
The owner is unbelievably kind, and I cannot say enough nice things about our stay. If you are a cat lover, please stay here!

Very clean, items that you would need even for a long stay with more than a few people are there. We had to use the public bus for our commute for most of the time but there was a bus station very close by. For a car, the owner provided us nice parking garage and also bikes for us to run to the convenience store/grocery stores or just wander around the nice country neighborhood. Interesting entertainment items are free to use and we had so much fun! The Kitchen and bathrooms are nicely updated. The house was huge and roomy, and our group(adults of 6) was very comfortable to stay.
The owner Yuto-san was extremely helpful and always responded/answered the questions in a very timely manner with his great suggestions. We would stay again! Recommending to anyone who wants to enjoy/experience the traditional Japanese house setup and its wonderful atmosphere!

We had such a beautiful and comfortable room to stay in and the owner was very kind and friendly. It was a lovely and quiet place after the hustle and bustle of various cities. Great coffee too!

The staff were very friendly. I found the bed comfortable and the whole quest house was very charming. The restaurant attached to the guest house was good and convenient, and the view of the garden from there was lovely. It is two minutes away from Mitaki-dera, which I found to be an underrated beautiful place, now one of my favorite temples I have visited.

Located within a short walking distance to the nearest train station, good place to stay if you are planning to visit Kure for a few days. In the evening the first floor becomes a bar filled with friendly locals you can talk to, good place to stay in you like to mingle with the locals. The host Rina is also very friendly and helpful, especially when giving pointers around the town.
Mr Nakamura was so welcoming and even though I barely spoke any Japanese, staying at Setouchi Life really allowed me to experience life in the Japanese countryside and get to know all the fellow wonderful homestay guests, with whom I ate dinners and traveled around. Hospitality was amazing.
