I really like Haukaberg House. You can find there anything that you need and feel like at home. Location is perfect and really close to the house you have amazing dark spot where you can see aurora. Our host was very amazing and whenever we will be nearby, I will choose that House for my stay.

A place that just gets everything right. Clean, self check-in instructions are clear, and facilities and amenities are exactly right at where they are meant to be. There are many decorations on the property that tells you more about the host family and the surrounding landscape and really gives you a feeling of staying at someone's home. All the guests are respectful which also elevates the experience.
Perfect place to sleep finally in a decent accommodation after many days of lodges and all kinds of small homestays on the way. Everything you would expect from a decent hotel.
Giant windows with amazing views.
Lovely hosts and they let me check in quite early, which was well needed. The beds and pillows were so far the best I've had in iceland. Lovely new modern bathroom with an amazing rain shower. There's not much to do in town but nice as a pitstop in between. The place doesn't offer breakfast or dinner (offseason) but compensates with free coffee, tea, cereal, and stuff for in the mornings.
Inga is a lovely host, we were greeted by her and we also had a chat. The guesthouse was one of a kind, traditional, simple, but very homely. Would definitely stay there again. The location was one of the most beautiful we've been to in Iceland.
