our host Shukkur was exceptional, so friendly and went out of his way to help us book excisions, drop off at bus station etc. room was exactly like photos, amazing view from balcony! also provided laundry service. we ended up booking an extra night.

Green view is located in a nice calm area not too far from the bus station, Town center and Periyar Tiger Reserve entrance. The check-in process was very smooth. The room was sufficiently big and had the necessary amenities for three people (2 adults + 1 child) stay. The room was clean and hygienic. There was room cleaning facility during the stay. The weather was very hot at the time of our visit. The room did not have an A/C but the room was cool enough with a ceiling fan during the day time. The night time temperatures were very pleasant. We had a room facing the garden which was well insulated from the street noise. The balcony was a nice place to sit and enjoy watching different birds and animals (squirrels including Malabar giant squirrels and monkeys including Nilgiri langur) visiting the trees behind. There was also facilities for accompanying drivers to stay. For eating, there is Grandma cafe close-by with quality food and quiet ambience. Thekkady cafe which has a bit more options for quality regional food is not too far. For trying out local snacks like Pazham Pori, there is Friend's Coffee Bar close to the bus station/Town junction. As a Green View resident, it was nice to to get a non-resident access to Club Mahindra Resort's pool facility (which is at a walk-able distance) at a nominal price. We also availed the laundry service which was pretty good and efficient. Suresh is an excellent host. He responds promptly to all the messages and calls. He gave us good suggestions for places to visit in and around Kumily/Thekkady such as, Connemara tea estate, Kalpavanam elephant park, Green Land spices, watching Kathakali at Navarasa, and made arrangements for that. For watching Kathakali, it was nice of Suresh to get us seats in the front row. We enjoyed visiting the places he suggested. Throughout the stay, Suresh checked and ensured that our stay at Green View was pleasant and comfortable.

The host Mr. Shyam was very helpful in organising the trip and he assisted us very well. The homestay was very calm and located a bit away from chaiotic main town. Clean rooms and easy enterly happy with the stay and service. We were given access to cook food for ourself as we took our 5 month old child.

I loooved my stay at Konark homestay. Rani and her husband are great hosts and trust me you will want to book this place for the views alone! The sun sets beautifully over the nature reserve which is right on the boarder of the back of the homestay. Also I think they improved their wifi because I had no issues, I was also able to upload a very large video file within 2 hours. If I come back to Kumily I will book here again. Water in shower gets hot and the bed is comfortable as well.
