We loved this property and ended up staying here twice. The location is perfect, its in the middle of the island so its not waterfront, but this isn't an issue because you spend most of your time at the beach. The location is close to some great restaurants but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip. The rooms are very modern and incredibly spacious and clean. The workers are so nice and sweet and quick to give recommendations on where to eat and what to do.
I will also note that during our first stay, there was a woman who was threatening to give Villa Doria a bad review if they did not refund her money (for a night that she did stay at the hotel). So, if you see a bad review from around the same time that we stayed there, ignore it. She was being incredibly mean and rude to the staff and threatening to drag the hotel through the mud on social media and online if they did not refund her money for a night that she, in fact, stayed at the hotel. She fed them some sob story about needing to leave the country to come back so she could get a new visa, but it was a lie as we saw her on the island a few days later at a different hotel.

It had super friendly staff, a nice little pool but the main draw card is its location - it is not far from the main centre of action at the port, but far enough away to be relaxing and it is one of the better locations for sitting and watching the sunset over the Gili Islands and Bali - many other tourists came to the facilities at this resort to do this. They have a good bar with some decent cocktails on the menu and a band playing relaxing reggae type music during sunset hours. The bar and restaurant are also good and one of the more popular choices we noted along our little strip of resorts with each resort seeming to pickone or two nights a week where they have a band playing to later and try to draw in a party crowd on the beach

First and foremost the staff. The team makes you feel at home and so very welcome. It really makes a big difference. The sunset view is awesome, it’s very chill and right on the beach.
Some evenings a band is playing and it’s really fun to sing along and dance. It’s not a loud place, though. Perfect if you just want to relax.

Gili air is a unique place to stay, and Blue Marlin Dive adds that western touch to a very Indonesian island. However it is fantastic to see how the locals have been integrated and play a crucial role in the success of this business. Breakfast by the beach in the morning is the ultimate level of happiness. We didn't dive, but went snorkeling, staff have been helpful with giving tips and organising transfers. Thank you all for our fantastic stay. Rooms were spacious and the pool was a nice distraction for the kids.

Really clean, spacious, lovely location, very comfortable bed & what made it most special was the host of Abam’s home stay called Oban. He was one of the kindest people we have met on our travels! Also they have bike rentals for a really good price! Would highly recommend this place & when we return we will definitely be staying here again!
Everything, but in fact I never met such a wonderful host (and host family) before. Lovely breakfast was included, coffee throughout the day, as well as water, which is nice for the guests and potentially life saving for the environment.

This homestay is located very close to the Main Street and within minutes from the port. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was great to enjoy on the terrace outside each room.
The room was very basic, clean and the bed comfortable. A hammock is provided for a nice afternoon nap.
We enjoyed our stay at Mirna Homestay. It is quite centrally located on the island, so all spots are a 10-15 minute walk away (quicker if you cycle). Pak Jan, who owns the honestly, is welcoming and always there for any questions. He also has the world's best papaya which you get for breakfast! The room is clean and simple, with practical touches such as a clothes rack for wet clothes after swimming or diving. The room is air conditioned and the bed is roomy. You do hear the mosque call, but this is something you get all over the island.
