Easily one of the most beautiful, aesthetically pleasing places I’ve ever seen. Amazing rooms, comfy bed, incredible bathroom. The staff was incredibly helpful in accommodating us and even packed us a to-go breakfast because we had to leave early the following morning.

Great breakfast and super friendly staff. Excellent water pressure in shower and plenty of hot water. Location is very convenient for Borobudur and I think they have bikes for use free of charge. WiFi was pretty reliable.

The place is a peaceful retreat, close to Borobudur Temple. The breakfast was delicious, the room and bed extremely comfortable. The ambiance was great and best for last the host and her staff. Siska, the owner, helped us to get tickets for a Javanese Ballet performance at Prambanan Temple and provided us with an exceptional driver, Agus, who picked us up and dropped us off at the airport and drove us around showing us the best places and a spectacular sunrise.

This homestay is amazing, we didn’t want to leave! Is in front of the temple in very centre location but when you go inside the property you don’t listen any noise, so peaceful and calm! Perfect to relax in the beautiful common areas.

The owner was very helpful. She prepared me a "lunchbox breakfast" to bring to Borobudur for an early start. And she recommended Phuket Thai Restaurant which I loved and ate four meals there. The homestay is super convenient. It's close to Borobudur main entrance, restaurants, convenience stores, pharmacies... the whole lot. I slept well and the scene was quaint.

It can be a good idea to stay there for a few days and see not only Borobudur temple (don’t forget to buy a ticket online in advance), but also another temples, rice fields and a life of local people. The best part of Efata Homestay cannot be seen in any photo or description. It is the big heart and the great hospitality of the hosts. It was a great stay with a very clean room and we would have loved to stay longer. I recommend everyone to stay several nights and also to explore the area. I can only recommend the accommodation to anyone who would like to stay in a lovely, authentic homestay.
The owner and his son were so friendly to me. Felt more like a homestay or a couch surfing and was very natural hanging out with them. They gave me some great info on viewing sunrise and visiting the temple. And they also offered me coffee whenever I saw them. Definitely gave me some warm feelings.
The homestay is also incredibly close to borobudur.

Ika und Yanni are exceptionally nice people and made my stay truly memorable. They helped me with everything. Ika even accompanied me to the temple and gave me some first-hand information. Moreover he did a bicycle tour with me and showed me a mushroom and honey manufacture and also took me on his motorbike to Candi Mendut. The breakfast was delicious and every afternoon I got coffee and sweets. The homestay is in walking distance to the temple and city centre.
I had a great stay at Griyo Jagalan. Friendly Mr Berman and his mum take good care of the room. It was very clean and comfortable. It is homestay in a little fruit orchard. I didn't see any mosquitoes. This is the nearest homestay to the main gate of Borobudur. Yes. NEAREST.
