Beautiful room with comfortable bed, air conditioning, a screen in the door, dishes, fridge, kettle and sink in the room, shared bathroom was clean, handy items like a sewing kit in the bathroom was a nice touch

Soooo much better than staying at an airport hotel. Very homey in the country. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, a lovely common area available for relaxing available, and best of all a home cooked dinner and/or breakfast can be added for an extra charge. Transportation to/from Athens airport was also facilitated by our host.
Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
If you have a day or two and you don’t want to stay in the main city of Athens then this is a place you can relax. I think it’s a family owned business and they treat you like personal guests and are very accommodating. Don’t be shy saying hello to them because they sure enjoying taking care of their guests. The pool is big and deep and the atmosphere of the hotel is like going to grandma’s house with old but homie feelings.
Breakfast was good, restaurants and the beach are a 5 minute walk and the locals are nice too.
We could say, that we liked everything - location, nearby beach, tavernas, local bakery, children playground, We also liked very much, that the area was not the tourist hot spot, but most of the people were locals. Even you could buy very local things from the mini market. Last but not least, everything what you need for the holiday, was just in the walking distance:
The best thing about Villa George is ... George :) great host, who will make your stay in Nea Makri unforgettable❤️very helpful and always there to make you smile. It's a nice place to stay for a few days when in Nea Makri, very close to the St. Ephraim Monastery, not so far from the seaside. For us it was a good place to stay during a festival.
Alexis was a very great host. He was caring a lot about our comfort.
The House was wonderful and we enjoy the pool at any time of the day.
