The location was great. You could just stroll to the beach. The balcony had a beautiful view. The owner seemed to really want to please but communication was difficult because I don't speak Greek.

My wife and I stayed at Sclopa The Laography Project on our honeymoon in mid-September 2024. The elegance, charm, historicity, and comfort of the boutique hotel’s rooms and common spaces astounded us to the point that my well-traveled wife remarked that it was the best stay of her life around a hotel or Airbnb. The rooms are thoughtfully stocked with beautiful plates and cutlery as well as a table for eating and a dedicated sink for cleaning up after meals.
A very warm mother and her son own Sclopa. The mother lives on site and prepared us a delicious complementary breakfast from scratch on our last morning. Her son is an Athens-based archeologist who spared no expense or attention to detail in lovingly and painstakingly renovating the 300-year-old five-home building into a truly remarkable hotel. The son even published a book in Greek, English, and French that details the history of the property and explains all the typical design features of Cretan houses using examples from the exterior and the rooms.
A nice bonus is the hotel’s accessibility to both Crete’s main highway and a solid town, both just a couple of minutes away. My wife and I already cannot wait to return for a second stay.

Summer Lodge is really nice hotel with traditional Greek ornaments. Very clean, very tidy. They have really comfortable beds. Mr Vasilios, Mrs Rebeka and Mrs Athena, our hosts, helped us to find rent a car and with the instructions what to visit on the Crete.

Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
George is truly a great host and gave us some great tips upon our arrival & even a welcome present. The room is big and the bed very comfortable. But the most outstanding thing about Arodamos studios is the breakfast. Freshly prepared every morning with great variety. The staff was also extremely friendly. We enjoyed every second of our stay and would definitely book again.
Absolutely amazing place right at the sea side. You can enjoy famous beaches like Falasarna or Balos or quiet small beaches, all of them at a few kilometer distance.
The host family is incredible, friendly, welcome and helpful. All the area, appartments and pool are super chic and clean.
Breakfast is tasty, with fresh vegetables, pastry and delicious coffee.

Salami, cheese, bread, jam, coffee, cheese, fresh fruit and alcoholic drinks in accommodation completely free of charge. Delicious food with homegrown ingredients in the nearby restaurant .In addition, Nicos surprised us with something on a daily basis.
