Vanessa and Cameron are lovely welcoming hosts nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and extras such as fresh milk and water daily in the fridge Good location with parking. Due to unforseen circumstances we had to cut our stay short, Vanessa and Cameron where so understanding and thoughtful which we really appreciated. We will definitely return. Thanks for a lovely stay. Excellent value for money.

The Briarfields, hotel in Newton Abbot

Just a mile from Torquay's North Quay and Marina, The Briarfields offers boutique-style 5-star gold award luxury accommodation.

Breakfast was really brilliant. The hosts very graciously cooked our food early on the Sunday morning. This was after we had hammered on the door, demanding to be fed. After it was explained that the clocks had gone back, and we had stopped laughing, we ate everything put in front of us. We also left the wedding present on the pavement, they saved it and took it to our venue.

Lovely place but parking a real issue, there is a car park but its is very tight.I would go again but get my much husband to drive . I worried about getting my car out but owner did it for me...thank goodness. Initially found owner a bit too much, and in a hurry to get us to rooms etc and came rushing out when we arrived telling me where and how to park...but place was very clean indeed, breakfast lovely, location great, and fantastic pub right next door that did amazing food. Cafe need by too, right by sea.

Beautiful, unique place, and lovely hosts. The dog is lovely. I wish we had seen him more ❤️ Love the fact they left breakfast and plenty of toiletries to use. Beds are so comfy, and there are plenty of board games left to play in the evening.

Such a lovely property. It was so cosy and welcoming. The bed was really comfy, we slept so well. Had everything we needed, not to mention Sharon’s lovely home made body wash and moisturiser. Sharon and Richard are such lovely hosts! The breakfast was soo amazing as well, the rain held off so we got to eat it whilst looking at the lovely views.

Secluded and peaceful yet within easy walking distance of Bovey. Paul was a great host, calling by to check everything was okay and we appreciated the fresh flowers, and local produce. We loved the decor in the cabin, so many interesting and upcycled items such as the ladder for a towel rail and the wall mounted suitcase to hold the sweetie jar! It was also very well equipped so cooking a meal was not a problem and very comfortable.

For a lone traveller it is highly recommended. But if I were to be travelling with my family, I would try to book at The Willows as well. Debbie is a great hostess and the breakfast is to die for! Personally I love being out in the countryside with the fabulous views, even though it takes some getting to via narrow county lanes - Challemging, but fun!
