Ba Ba Guest House, hotel in Hawarden

This pretty, 4-star guest house provides rooms with LCD TVs just 5 minutes’ drive from Chester’s historic center and cathedral. Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi and full English breakfasts.

It is a lovely guest house in the convenient area (you can find many restaurants just around the corner). Alghough the room was small, it was value for money. The building itself is probably old, but it is well refurbished and maintained. The host is very kind and warm. We felt welcomed.

Pentre Cerrig Country House, hotel in Hawarden

Pentre Cerrig Country House offers accommodations in Llanferres, 26 miles from Bodelwyddan Castle and 26 miles from Pier Head.

Pentre Cerrig Country House hosted by the lovely and ever helpful Charmian, Ted, and Rebecca, was the perfect respite for us to spend several tranquil days at the end of our 10-day Offa's Dyke hike. The setting is magical, a small country estate tucked amidst the lush green hills and valleys of Clwyd, with extensive common areas inside and out to enjoy Charmian's beautiful, meticulously maintained gardens, and exceptional views that stretch for miles across hill and dale. The Druid Inn, a quaint and friendly traditional pub that serves delicious food and local cask ales is just a short 10-minute walk through field and forest, and the town of Mold is only a 15-munite drive with more extensive shopping and dining options, including the excellent Glasfyrn pub. Charmian and Rebecca prepared and served an extraordinary traditional English breakfast that was the perfect start to the day, whether a good countryside ramble or simply a lazy day enjoying the serenity of the property while doing a little remote work. Not only were Charmian, Ted, and Rebecca exceedingly helpful in their pre-stay communications, but during our stay made us feel not only welcome but treated us like favored family guests. We look forward to spending more time with them on our next visit and highly recommend Pentre Cerrig Country House to anyone looking for a perfect base to explore this special region.

Spacious, loved the decor, very comfortable, lovely garden, cute dog, kitchen was great and had everything I needed, lovely hosts welcomed me with biscuits cake and milk, there were clear helpful instructions on how to use everything and recommendations for places to visit, eat, shops, walks etc. I received instructions the day before on how to find the apartment and how to access the key.
