Tom was a very gracious and friendly host who has a very cosy warm home. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with a delightful eclectic finish which we both really enjoyed. Breakfast was comprehensive and well received. probably the best choice I have ever seen in many years of staying in hotels! Parking was easy and during our stay we were the only vehicle parked so no difficulty in getting out. Overall a delightful stay in what is a really beautiful , dramatic part of mid Wales, and somewhere that you would be well advised to visit! Thanks Tom! Martin and Janet

Well positioned off the main high street. Comfortable stay and welcoming staff. Well positioned for the Elan Valley and Gilfach Nature Reserve. One tip would be if you intend to eat at The Triangle Inn book beforehand as can be busy when you least expect it

Black Mountain Lodge, hotel in Powys

This lovely, old stone building is at the foothills of the Black Mountains amid beautiful countryside and views of the Brecon Beacons. It has a restful feel, comfortable rooms and a free Wi-Fi zone.

We booked this property very last minute, (due to booking with another property and choosing a room with a bath, on arrival, they couldn’t offer us that and we had a refund). We arrived within 5-10 mins of booking and we were met with a friendly wave from someone in a car, in passing. On arrival we were absolutely stunned by the beauty of this property, including a gigantic Christmas tree in the middle of the courtyard that was lit up superbly! We had been left a key with our name on and an envelope with some info too. Heading towards our room was such a good first impression and the room was absolutely beautiful! The bath had a jacuzzi too and I could have cried I was so happy! 🤣 It snowed heavily the night we stayed which made it so magical, due to this, breakfast was prepared, cooked and served by one lady and she did a tremendous job. A really lovely stay and we would definitely return!

Anne was a very good host and very responsive. There were even welsh cakes and milk on arrival. Pressure on the shower water was very strong. Kids liked the sheep nearby. Bed was comfy overall, and we had an amazing time. Thank you, Anne.

Great hosts, very clean & well stocked room, albeit the en-suite was very small and the sink quite hard to use as there was a shelf right above it. Breakfast was excellent.

The lodge is beautiful as is the location. Lodge had everything you could possibly need. Plenty of cooking utensils, cleaning products, Hoover, Iron and ironing board, Wi-Fi and smart tv books dvds and so much more didnt want for anything. There was garden furniture for four people with a table. Every angle covered. The Host was one of the most helpful hosts we have stayed with and we will DEFINITELY be staying again soon. Hats off to a great Host and a beautiful Lodge.
