Warm cosy and quiet, it was like staying with family, the room was spacious and spotless the bed comfy, the bed sheets fresh a breakfast to die for and the icing on the cake was exceptional hosts. If anything I feel it's under priced for what you get. Heather and Frank are lovely hosts and make you feel welcome in their beautiful home.
Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Staff were friendly, and welcoming (and so were the locals) and we were able to come and go as we pleased. Room was stocked with tea and coffee everyday, with clean towels and linen.
It was a lovely pub, friendly locals and landlord, who made me welcome. A great location too as it's very close to all amenities. Comfortable room, with en suite and a lovely breakfast.

We are just home from a fabulous stay at The Carp. Room was cosy and well presented. The staff were great, especially Adi, and made us feel relaxed. The pub downstairs was great and the locals made us feel very welcome. Live music on the Saturday night was a very pleasant surprise. A hidden gem. Will definitely be returning.
We came across Lakeside Fisheries last year and this was our 3rd stay with two more booked before Christmas. We can honestly say this is our favourite place to come and relax. Fishing straight from the decking is a great bonus but you can fish elsewhere around the lake. Paul and Amy are great hosts and we can't wait to return.
