We found this Chambre d'hôtes de l'écluse d'Episy near Fontainebleau south of Paris. It is quite small: a converted garage, but big enough for the two of us. There is a jacuzzi which unfortunately we didn’t have time to use but it looked lovely. We easily drove into Fontainebleau for dinner.
Château Rouillon d'Allest is located in Chartrettes. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and on-site parking is provided.

Utterly charming and fabulous hosts. Stunning property full of history and close to many places of interest and beauty. Located on the banks of the Seine, the chateau is peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast is served in an exquisite dining room, with lovely French music playing and delicious pastries and eggs. The host booked us a table at the nearby Chalet restaurant, which was perfect. We will return.
