We wanted to visit Loches and La Maison des Fleurs proved to be an excellent choice. We wished we could stay longer. Everything was perfect, but being invited to eat dinner with the hosts provided an enduring and happy memory. The food was delicious and the conversation entertaining and educational.

We chose Une Maison en Touraine because we wanted air conditioning (there are very few accommodations in France that have A/C), as we are fairly heat-intolerant being from Seattle. Our expectations were more than met! We loved the bucolic feel of this bed and breakfast, the careful attention to the charming decor (garden-themed in our room), and the cozy outdoor spaces for lounging. In addition, we were so happy to have access to a small but complete kitchen including dishwasher, so we could cook dinner after a long day of sightseeing. Finally, our host Anne was extremely kind and attentive. She not only provided us with a daily continental/hot breakfast (basket full of breads, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee/tea; one breakfast had eggs and another had crepes), but she also was so kind in providing us first-aid for my daughter's burn. Highly recommend!
Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
We wish we had stayed longer. What a find. Such lovely hosts. The building was delightful with spiral stone staircase, spacious room, large windows with shutters and curtains. The room and bathroom were well laid out and spacious. The patio garden was a wonderful spot to sit and have a drink and the host plays guitar and sings. Olivier was very helpful as we needed to see a doctor. He booked the appointment for us. We would definitely stay again. The town of Loches is a delight with plenty to keep you occupied over two days.
Breakfast was excellent, many food items to pick from. Croissants were big and crispy. Chako & Olivier were great host. The room was very clean and remodeled. Also it was waking distance to dinner and castle.
Great location near to facilities, shops and transport.
Locals are friendly and helpful.
Two beautiful parks nearby which we used for lunchtime picnics.
Excellent farmers markets on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
We discovered the parks by accident and a local person mentioned the markets.
These should be promoted more.
This is probably the best b&b I have stayed in, comfortable bed lovely host who gave us complimentary drinks and snacks. It is worth going to Loches just to stay at this place.
