Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Facilities were fine for price - clean, well upkept, large rooms. Vibes were more of a long-stay place with travellers who had been there for >1 month. Food was decent and plentiful. Great place for experiencing the culture, they offered school and village tours and some travellers used it as a gateway to homestays around Wayalailai
Everything. The room was spacious, clean and equipped with fans. The property was lovely. Great activities on offer, don’t miss the hike up the mountain! They also offer scuba diving which we highly recommend - great diving spots and a very relaxed dive guide. We booked the full day experience and had the best bbq on the beach between our dives. The evening activities were always heaps of fun and we were invited to share kava with the locals. Price / Value was amazing.
Wayalaila Ecohaven is a resort run by locals and is definitely one of the best spots in Yasawa Islands. Saff is very friendly and will do their best for you so you feel like home. Rooms and entire resort are very tidy. Food was always freshly made and tasty. The resort also offers great activities so you will never be bored. If you want to have a great time in Fiji, you don't have to plan anything in advance. Just visit Wayalaila Ecohaven, and they will organize you the best Fijian holiday.
Amazing location right on the edge of the beach. A great mix of a small resort and family home stay.
Our traditional bungalow looked out directly on to a beautiful coral reef. Snorkling was fantastic. Enjoyed exploring the coastline in a kayak and hiking up to the summit for a wonderful sunset. The staff were very nice and welcoming. We had some delicious home cooked authentic fijian meals. Our stay was above expectations.
I liked this place so much that I came back again before leaving Fiji. The place is so peaceful, the bures(cottages) have just all one might need. And the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful doing everything to make you feel home. I loved the family atmosphere. It's a resort but feels more like a homestay, the most authentic place I have visited in Fiji. Vinaka!
Big shout out to the staff, if I could give you 15/10 I would! From warm welcome song and hugs to amazing food and great talks.
Our traditional bungalow was awesome, no AC (fan yes) but really not needed, was nice and cool at night.
Kava night session was amazing experience to bond with locals.
They try to remember every person’s name which makes it super homey.
Keep doing what you’re doing because you make our holidays memorable.
We came as strangers and left as family. It was nice to be a part of the beautiful culture and see many villages. There are so many fun activities including snorkling with reef sharks, kayaking, scuba diving, and hiking. The views were amazing. The food was so good and lots of variety at each meal. We spent 6 nights here and would totally recomend for anyone wanting to stay here to spend as much time to get the full experience and connection with the locals.
