We stayed here while doing the Camino because the prices at the hostels were outrageous! This place had a great price, super location, and was very comfortable for one night in town. There is a great tapas bar in the Plaza that was the only place open when we arrived and it was amazing!

I recently stayed at the wonderful Pension Katrapona in Getaria. I was with two friends in a room with three beds. I’ve travelled a lot with these friends and very often a room for three is just a double room with an extra bed crammed in. But at the Katrapona we had a huge, bright room with lots of space for our suitcases. The room and bed were very comfortable and a great breakfast was served in the morning which invcluded fresh tortilla and bizcocho made by Itxaso, who made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The Katrapona is in a beautiful old building that has been lovingly renovated right down by the harbour in Getaria. We very much enjoyed our two night stay in this gorgeous place. I would really recommend it if you are travelling in this lovely area.

Excellent location. Clean. Quiet. Room was in A+ shape. Very friendly staff. The free self-service coffee and tea provided in the lobby was much appreciated as were the umbrellas on loan -both essential for wet and windy Donastia in late autumn.
Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Reasonably close to the beach 15 minute walk and a 25 minute walk to the main plaza restruants.
Beach excellent no dogs though, but if you go to the North end plenty of locals take their pets.

Clean , spacious accommodation and dog friendly. The staff are knowledgeable but tend to say places to visit are a shorter walk than they actually are. Up the hill is a field where you can let your dog lose some of that energy.
Beaches officially do not allow dogs but we did not have any issues at the east side of the beach. Lots of locals doing the same thing.
Great location, very clean hostel with good amenities, and an awesome and very friendly host. Great hostel with everything you need at an acceptable price. Supermarket is literally 30 steps away also!
Lovely hostel - place, staff, equipment of the hostel and the beds, nice bathrooms, very clean. They have a rack for drying clothes outside, which is great for pilgrims!
Excellent location - in old town, cafes, shops, bars and 2-3 minutes from beach. Josu & Maitane very good hosts. Parking permit available. Very well designed, very clean.
