The little room with the old beams and the balcony over the main street was charming and cozy. The bed was very comfortable, and the wifi worked well. The well-stocked kitchen with the little lounge was nice to have access to. Karlos was very friendly and helpful, carrying our luggage up and down the twisty stairs and walking with us to the bus stop when we left Santillana.
Many restaurants and hotels were closed in mid-November, but we still ate well in the village. We recommend the wine and salads at La Tienda, the mussels and calamari (rabas) at La Batea, and everything at Restaurante Plaza Mayor. We also loved visiting the amazing Altamira Cave museum, about a half-hour walk from Santillana.

This was a very affordable guesthouse near Santillana del Mar. We took a bus from right in front of the property to get into town. (note that the property faces a busy road, but is set back a bit, although you will hear some traffic noise). The breakfast was good, and it was right near our Camino walking route. The host was very accommodating for our arrival and departure.

The hotel staff were wonderful and the restaurant was very popular although we didn’t eat there.

The apartment was wonderful. Located in a lovely quiet village. Hosts were very helpful friendly and accommodating.

An added bonus was attending the free bbq and music event as the village had a fiesta going on for the weekend. All locals were really friendly.
The accommodation was beautiful and everything was exactly as we expected from description and photographs. This family run posada is a gem because it is just outside of the main village but close enough to walk. Great car parking facilities too! Having a kettle and fridge in the room was very good 👍 lovely hosts who speak only a little English , we wish we spoke more Spanish.
Well situated just outside the main tourist area bu within walking distance. Good breakfast included in price and restaurant seemed popular with locals although we didn't try it
