La Plaza Hostal is an absolute treasure find!- Perfectly located in the highest village square of the ‘casco antiguo’ (old town) in Peñíscola, right next to the castle and with magnificent views of the ocean from the attic hotel terrace. The hotel is a traditional Spanish house, fully restored to perfection and designed with exquisite taste to blend in with the history, culture and tradition of this beautiful Spanish town. This hotel is the ‘real thing’! A true gem of a find!
Cristina, the host, made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived. She was extremely helpful and truly went above and beyond our expectations; always available in person and/or on the phone. She always offered to help with any questions or queries and gave us great and valuable information and advice regarding the town, places to eat and to visit in and around Peñíscola. She was the absolute perfect host! Our room was fantastic! Impeccably clean and beautifully designed as the rest of the hotel. The bed was really comfortable and we had a very restful sleep.
Breakfast was lovely too. Tasty selection of four different options and enjoyed it sitting out in the village square whilst also absorbing the whole atmosphere of the place.
I very highly recommend La Plaza Hostal! If you are looking for the real thing; tradition, history, culture, hospitality, comfort, impeccable service, beautiful surroundings and a great welcoming, this is your hotel.

Great location in the middle of the "castle", nice facilities/bathroom/shower etc, air conditioning worked well. There is also a large public parking lot that is a 10min walk from the hotel that is suitable for large vehicles (vans, RVs, etc), and apparently it is (or was when I was there) free.

This hotel is a gem. It is very clean, spacious, good storage in rooms, lovely swimming pool, nice breakfast and lovely hosts. Parking is in a garage under the house so your car stays cool and clean! There is also an elevator, making it easy to unload the luggage and take to your room.
