Tayyeb, the owner, is very discreet yet keeps an eye on everything so that his guesthouse is very well run. The whole place, rooms, garden, house, are decorated with taste. The breakfast and food are delicious. Only regret is that I wasn’t aware of the set dinner time so we went with the a la carte option (also really good) but missed on some chef’s special. Do ask about meal times.
The location is a little remote but it’s a perfect base to explore the West Bank (5 min drive from the Valley of the Kings). All in all a great stay. More expensive than other properties in Egypt but it is worth every penny. I wish we had a couple more days in Luxor to actually spend more time at the property (we were out all day visiting archaeological sites). I’d love to come back.

I really enjoyed the hospitality of Nasser and Karim. We had a lot of fun with them. It's easy to book a tour from here. I recommend 100%, They serve the best food we had in Egypt, no joke! And the Mango juice is Incredible. The room is beautiful. I would come again next time I am in Luxor

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the guest house. Wish I would’ve spend more time. Austin and Abeer go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The guesthouse itself has great interior, clean bathrooms and super comfortable beds. The rooftop is perfect for working, since it’s quiet and has a strong WiFi connection. The owner was so welcoming and friendly. Ibrahim really took care of us and made us feel relaxed, and with the chaos of Cairo, being at his guesthouse felt like a relief. He offered to help us organize our time in Luxor and it was so easy to just hand over the travel planning to someone else. We had two guided tours. One was not so great, but after telling Ibrahim, he found a different guide for our second one. I recommend Basry as an English speaking guide.
All of the other staff were so cheerful and friendly. Rex the puppy was also a highlight.

We stayed at this beautiful guesthouse on the West Bank of Luxor, and it was by far the BEST accommodation we experienced during our Egypt trip. Despite its location in a quiet village, the apartment exceeded expectations with its modern appliances, spacious layout, and stunning balcony views with such an affordable price. It was perfect for our group of 5 girls, offering both privacy and a strong sense of security. The location is also ideal for hot air balloon rides and temple visits.
We were lucky to stay when the host's family was present, and their hospitality was one of the highlights of our trip. Communication in English was very smooth, and they were always ready to help with our itinerary, offering valuable advice, like tips on taking a felucca on the Nile.
Their warm hospitality made our stay truly unique and enriching, as they even took the time to show us around the village, adding a special touch to our experience.
We also faced a minor issue with our driver before heading to the airport, but the host’s family stepped in to resolve it quickly, making us feel supported the whole time. The surrounding village is very friendly, with nearby cafes and shops where we found great souvenirs at very reasonable prices.
Overall, this stay far exceeded our expectations, and I highly recommend this guesthouse.

Kemet house is an oasis in the west bank in Luxor. Laurice is the best host you could ask for, we felt like home for two days. It’s been by far the best hotel we stayed in during the whole trip around Egypt.
The room was clean, well decorated and cozy. The food is delicious and homemade (by Laurice and her Egyptian sisters in law), make sure you try dinner one night and never miss out their breakfast.
Public ferry is 5 minutes walk but check the west bank as well, it is beautiful and more authentic.

This was my favorite hotel in Egypt. We stayed for 7 nights. Located on the West Bank, the neighborhood is much more chilled than the east bank. The locals are friendly. The hotel itself is charming with street views from the terrace plus view of the Hapashput Temple in the distance. Tours were offered for a very fair price. However, the staff are the real attraction. Friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Mahmod and Waed for making our stay so enjoyable. *****
This was my second stay at Golden Life this winter and I can only reiterate what a superb place this is! Wonderfully clean and comfortable, perfectly located on a quiet street just a two minute walk from the Nile and staffed by the loveliest people, who go to great lengths to make their guests feel welcome!
