If you want a peaceful haven with the opportunity to see wildlife without the crowds, stay at Encanto Lodge. We received such a warm welcome from Edu and Sabina. They are excellent hosts and cooks, using ingredients from their farm. We enjoyed paddling in their boat along the estuary to the beach and in the mangroves, viewing capuchin monkeys, parrots, macaws and other wildlife. They also arranged for us to visit Corcovado NP, which was a holiday highlight, plus a dolphin and whale watching tour.
Top tip....read the advice on their website where they tell you what to bring for the excursions. You will need a 4wd car to get to the property.

Javier and his girlfriend are really nice and the room was cozy. Everything is nicely decorated and it's possible to use the kitchen and common areas even in heavy rain! Everything is clean, great breakfast, walking distance everywhere. We definitely recommend staying here! You can also book different tours with Javier.

We have spent a wonderful time in Corcovado Mountain house. We came to Costa Rica to observe wildlife and this was the highlight of our three weeks trip. The hotel is next to the jungle and primary forest. We saw toucans, monkeys, and a lot of various animals all day coming to the garden of the hotel. If you are lucky, you can see tapir as well. Victor is a very friendly host and knows much about wildlife. He can offer you a jungle tour to see the waterfalls. It was the best tour we had in Costa Rica and absolutely worth the money!

Great host who gave us many good tips and made us feel relaxed at the accommodation. Fair price/quality, you get what you pay for! Clean place and nice balcony overseeing one of the main streets of Drake Bay as well as the ocean. Central location. There is airconditioning and there are basic cooking facilities including a big fridge (I read some other reviews that there is no fridge -- that issue has been fixed)!
I loved the village , it felt relatively safe and it gave more freedom for alone hike on trail along coast. I loved terrace and The view . And Leo is a great host , taking good care of his guests.
Greenpoint is a great place to stay! It has everything you need and the surroundings (nature, birds, frogs, monkeys) are amazing! Juan is a great cook: the breakfast and the meals are excellent! He is also a really good host: he is always there for you, whatever you need. He even makes breakfast when you leave early. Definitely recommend this lovely place!
