Absolutely loved this place! Breakfast was great, there was a fruit bowl every morning for every guest (not normal in Argentina).
The owner is incredible friendly and there are always there if you need anything. Beds are super comfortable as well and as it is in a side street it is nice and quiet.

My partner and I enjoyed 3 nights at Makenke Cozy Room. The host, Mechi, could not have been more helpful and welcoming (she conveniently works next door to the property during the day). The bed was comfy and the heater worked very effectively. I would highly recommended staying here, especially given how reasonably priced the property is considering it is located in El Chalten which is a more costly destination to stay. Loved our time there, thank you Mechi!

The price is affordable for tourists who want to have private space in this tourist priced town.
It is not far from the bus terminal and the trailhead of Mt. FitzRoy, but it is off the main street, which is good for those who want a quieter stay. The view from the window is also nice. The room had tea and coffee facilities and an electric kettle, which is rare in Argentina for a reasonably priced private room. I never met the owner, but responses to my questions about my stay were good. I did not understand Spanish and the owner did not seem to be understand English, but this was not a problem as we could communicate in English and Spanish using translation apps on our smart phones.
Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Nicolas is a great host, sharing suggestion on what/how to do (weather is a key point in Patagonia) and the breakfast is excellent. Room and location are also great points.
Great hostel with lovely staff that helped us with everything, including planning our hikes. Comfortable room/beds and excellent breakfast with toast, eggs, pastries, yoghurt etc. They also kept our luggage after checking out while we were trekking, and allowed us to shower after the hike. Free rent of hiking polls.
