Staff were very helpful and polite, we used the swimming pool and staff were helpful there too. Everyone had a smile and felt genuine.

Swimming pool was a good size. Gym had a wide variety of machines/equipment. Staff was friendly and helpful! 😊 Would recommend staying here to escape the city! (London).

The swimming pool and spa were really good. Locals use it , so was nice chatting to them. It wasn’t very busy in there at the time we went in, so was very relaxing. Staff members were very friendly and it was very clean.

The breakfast was ok and the location ok. The gym facilities and swimming pool are out the main hotel.

Staff were very helpful. Original room affected by in pub entertainment. Evidently this would have finished quite early but I wasn't feeling well as I had a cold and staff moved me to a quieter room. Thank you.

The room was spacious and very clean. Hotel was very modern and quiet with an excellent day spa and swimming pool. No view from our room but this didn't matter at all as the bar and public area have lovely views over the lake and fountains.

Golden Lion is an excellent hotel. We found all the staff friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed really comfortable. The breakfast was just right with a good selection of continental or excellent cooked food. The hotels central location is its strong point with loads of pubs,resturants and entertainment venues in this lively town centre. Perfect place to stay for a short break.
