This being our second time to Japan and we’ve stayed in a few traditional style places before. The house was really set up for a family but very luxurious and spacious for two people. It has everything for a really comfortable stay with a fully functioning kitchen and the bed on the first floor was so comfortable! We only had 1 night here and wanted to stay way longer! It was a lock box entry, which is super handy if you are driving. The next morning we met with the host Yoriko, who welcomed us with a huge hug! Our hire car battery died, so we were able to use the e-bikes to ride to the car hire office. Yoriko even stayed back to help the car hire man charge the battery from her own car. It was a 15min into the city or a quick e-bike ride!

The owners have even translated all instructions and helpful travel and eating advice in different languages. you need nothing when you stay here. Great view over water. very relaxed. very quiet.

Tougenkyo Iya no Yamazato is set in Ochiai. Complimentary WiFi is featured. All units feature air conditioning and a flat-screen TV. Amazing location high up on the hill in the middle of a wonderful mountain village. The house and facilities were first rate. Incredible views.
