Beautiful countryside, lovely village 15 mins cycle away....we are not into cycling but really enjoyed it, that say a lot !!! Amazing bamboo forest 10 mins cycling towards village, empty re people....beats any bamboo groove in Kyoto, absolutely STUNNING!!!!! We bought food and cooked at the house. Lots of fresh beef !!!! I can't rate this place highly enough............we stayed end of November, so also had wonderful colours of autumn leaves. We were met at the station, taken to the house and explained in perfect English, how to operate heating, door locks etc...... The owner then took us back to the station....and what surprised us was, he waited till we got into the station and waved us goodbye. 👋 Perfection 🥰 💞 🥰 to the end of a most memorable stay we will never forget. The kitchen is well equipped (there were even paper towels and Saran wrap, which most hosts forget about), and there is nice big western-style dining table. The tatami rooms have bed mattresses, so they are softer than normal futons. The bathroom was clean and modern, and has a nice washing machine (with a second one and a drier outside!).
