Stayed with my sisters so we have the whole cottage to ourselves! The accommodation itself is well taken care of, despite it being 70 years!!! We only stayed for one night but will definitely come back and stay longer next time. The place was well equipped for cooking, and there's a mini market about 5 mins drive. I would say it's a good size for family and a group of friends. View-wise you're basically surrounded by well taken care of rice fields! If you love nature and peace and quiet, you won't regret staying here. We were blessed with a beautiful weather in late June and was able to see the beautiful Hoshitouge rice terraces at sunrise. Maiko was also well-versed in English so we were able to converse well and gave us lots of recommendations of where to go and what to do in the area. It's in the countryside so I will definitely recommend renting a car. Can't wait to come back!!!

The location was perfect. The view was amazing. The kitchen was well stocked and the fridge was large. Plenty of space for our family of 4. Small balcony to watch the sunset from. Two large beds in each room. Block out curtains and air-conditioning. A lovely bathroom with a great view. There was a washing machine, but we didn’t use it. Two separate toilets. Walking distance from a nice beach. The water was really clear and the waves were calm.

Jonobien - Vacation STAY 13238 is set in the Muikamachi Onsen district of Minami Uonuma, 13 km from Maiko Snow Resort, 35 km from Tanigawadake and 8.1 km from Joetsu Kokusai Ski Resort. Host was really nice and helpful in explaining rules and how to use the property, such as how we can heat the baths and what we can or cannot use in the property. Host is Japanese speaking only but it was not a problem for us. The property was really clean with big spaces to relax, and our group of 7 enjoyed our stay very much. We can’t wait to return the next time we are in the area!
