Salina is 2nd largest island in the group & we took the Liberty Lines ferry, 2 hours from Milazzo. And it had a stop at Rinella on Salina island. From there only a 5 minute walk to the apartment. Up tiny stairs the apartment is a good size and has a sunny balcony with a view of the beach. Aircon is good. Short walk to the beach & to the facilities of the village including a small store, cafe, scooter rental. We hired a scooter and enjoyed exploring the rest of the island … would have been tough just to stay in Rinella. The island has steep hills & up/ down to the other towns. The owner has a local lady supporting it who is charming & helpful.

The location was great just off the main Street of Santa marina. The apartment and bathroom allowed for plenty of space, the kitchen has everything you need. I loved the terrace at the front and had my breakfast there every morning. There is a washing machine which came in handy. The hosts were very kind and made me feel welcome, they communicated with me anytime I needed. In the silence at night I could hear the ocean lapping the shore… Bellissimo.
