Very peaceful spot, in quiet and pretty but not very touristy part of Slovenia. Close to very good restaurants (two listed in the Michelin Guide within walking distance). The pool was great. This is a story of naivety which ended with overcharging and frustration.
We were coming back from a trip to Italy. After driving 700 km we needed a place to stay and a nice dinner – as Slovenia is half way to Bulgaria. We chose this place on booking.com
On the day of our reservation (10.05.24) they required that we call them at least an hour in advance to reconfirm time of arrival. I called from the Italian-Slovenian border and no one answered! After 15 minutes, I called a second time, as they did not have the courtesy to call me back.
We tried to reach the house using the address and send texts and we ended driving up on an extremely narrow, steep and winding roads, with sharp turns where we got lost between some small vineyards and other houses. The roads were so narrow that two cars cannot pass by each other Things were even worse because we were with a very long car.
It took us about 25 minutes to somehow escape the maze of narrow alleys and to get back from scratch. I called our host again. This time he tried to lead us over the phone, and following his guidance after few minutes we reached a fork in this tiny, winding road where he himslef was not sure how to lead us further. So he asked us to stop and wait for his father to come and take us, who was supposed to come in 5 minutes. After waiting for 10 minutes we were frustrated enough and our patience ran out. On top of that it was almost 8:00 pm and from our previous stay 10 days ago in the same vicinity we were aware that all restaurants in the area are closing by that time. So we were facing not only the frustration of having nowhere to stay but also a lack of dinner after 700 km drive.
We decided to continue our trip, to stop and sleep in some motel on the road. Leaving the area, we were stopped at a temporary traffic light because of some road works, where a car stopped by us. It turned out that this was the father, our host!
Great for families or large parties, holiday homes are privately owned accommodation, available for long or short-term rental. These homes are furnished and equipped with kitchen facilities for self-catering, although breakfast may be offered as an add-on. These properties have their own independent front door, which makes them different to apartments.
A beautiful and upkept historical building turned bed and breakfast. The owners are amazing hosts, always ready to help and accomodate their guests with anything and everything. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and spacious. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast - various fruits, freshly baked bread, local meats and cheeses, yoghurts and much more. We can't wait to return.

The breakfast is excellent, with lot of food, some of which locally produced and fresh. The jams are super tasty!
We were on tour and stayed at Kostanjevica 3 nights to relax before we continued our trip. We could have stayed longer: beautiful peaceful village, really friendly host helping us out with tips and everything we needed. Canoes and bicycles directly at location at a very fair price. Everything very clean and new. Beautiful old cave just a short walk from the apartment. We really enjoyed the stay! (even kids liked it here because of canoe trips and swimming and didn’t ask for screen time ;-))
Superb!!! One of the best places we've been. Everything from the teaspoon to the mattress in the bed is excellent. Very nice design and very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!!!!
A great little B&B on a small island on the river Krka. Large but cozy room, very clean and inviting. Location is really good (if you're looking for a rather small, peaceful place), highway is nearby as well. Secure parking is located in the backyard, no issues there.
Breakfast was very decent, the owner cordial and helpful. I will definitely return.
The place was very clean, specious and nice furnished. The lady welcomed us very kindly and informed about possible activities and places we might enjoy during the stay. It is quiet in the evening and you have a couple of bars around. The host was open to help whenever we needed.
Amazing location, many atractions around. New, very clean, comfortable apartment with well equipped kitchen and kitchen. Host was very helpful and polite. I recommend Ob Krki to everyone.
